Our philosophy
George O'Keefe in 1918
Georgia O'Keefe
"When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not. ”
KAMA is graced by a number of reproduction of paintings by Georgia O'Keefe. She is our favourite painter, and possibly the most celebrated female artist in the 20th century.
O'Keefe loved to paint extreme close-ups of flowers. Her world is a world of delicate contours, bold colours, voluptuous textures. In her paintings, we feel the strength and the fragility of femininity. Her ingenuity, diligence, discipline, and refusal to compromise had won her admiration from all over the world.
These qualities are also what KAMA is striving for. We love what we do, and we work very hard to do it well, with grace and determination.
